I sold my half-speed Beatle album collection at the start of the year to raise enough money to buy a Toyo 8x10 camera. I always wanted to make a contact print, to see it's quality. Wow, I was blown away.

Sure, the camera is huge (about 16 pounds without lens, tripod) yet the images are well worth the tussle.

This was my first print from the camera. I've always liked this river bend, which is right down the road from Tunk Creek Falls, another favorite photography area when I can get permission to enter.

I printed with a warm-toned, Agfa paper in hopes of getting a print with a platinum look. Nothing beats platinum, which is something I plan to explore in the near future. The feel of the final print was very nice.

I can't find my notebook with exposure information, but when I do I will be sure to post it. I don't own any filters for the camera, so this was a straight exposure on Tri-X film (rated at 200), developed in PMK Pyro.
